The Benefits of LED Grow Lights
Running Costs
-100% of high energy-efficient for our LED GROW LIGHT compare to only 10% energy usage for HPS & MH lights, 90% electricity energy saving
- Active cooling (air conditioning) costs for LED are only 1/10 of HPS/MH systems
- longer lifetime: The expected life of a LED grow lamp is on average 100,000 hours. This is 10 to 50 times longer than a typical Sodium/HID grow light bulb. LED grow lights can be used as either a primary light source or a supplemental light and they will pay for themselves in around 6 months of heavy use.
Purchase Costs
Although initial purchase costs may be higher than Sodium bulbs, the real costs are often lower because you don't need a ballast. Unlike fluorescent tubes and metallic vapor lamps that need a ballast to operate, LED grow lamps don't need a ballast. This eliminates a recurring cost from your grow room set-up. You also don't have the extra costs of purchasing a reflector as LEDs have the reflectors built right into themselves. And you needn’t bulb recurring cost either.
Grow Season
Since the Chlorophyll does not have to battle with unwanted light-waves, LED's can also be left on 24 hours a day without stressing your plants out. You can also use LED grow lamps to simply extend the day period of your light cycle by 4/6 hours during the Winter months. This extends your grow season to 365 days per year.
Benefits To The Environment
Less Environmental Hazard- Metallic vapor and fluorescent lamps all contain mercury, a heavy metal identified by the U.S. Government as hazardous to the environment and our landfills. Our LED Lights do not contain mercury.
Targeted Light Output
Broad spectrum grow lights produce a lot of light waves that plants can't use efficiently. LED Grow Lights only deliver the colors of light used by plants for efficient and healthy growth.
True optimized spectrum with tight-tolerance LEDs, Unrivaled chlorophyll/carotenes/xanthophylls absorption
Red 620-650nm: the best spectrum for plant flowering and fruiting
Blue 450-470nm: maximum peak points for vegetative growth and absorption
Orange 610-615nm: can meet the lower nm rating to make leaf larger and the flowers more brilliant as well as attract insects’ pollination for raising fruiting,
Minimum Heat
LEDs emit light without using filaments; ballast-free, light runs cool,
LED grow lights are warm to touch and won't scorch young or tender plants as HID lighting can. The high heat generated by a typical metal halide or high pressure sodium lamp can reach several hundred degrees to over 14 hundred degrees Fahrenheit at the bulb's surface. This excess radiated heat output adds to the grow room temperature greatly. Most LED grow lights operate at just a few degrees above room temperature, And further there is three thermostatically-controlled, low-noise fans eliminate these very a few heat. thus reducing your grow room cooling costs.
Watering
You won’t need to water as often if you use LEDs as your plants will transpire less. If for some reason, you need to leave your grow room unattended for a few days your plants will have a better chance of surviving because the grow lights are not producing lots of heat that dries them out.
Humidity
LED grow lights are ideal for plants and Ferns that have high humidity requirements. Cuttings will also root easily as they don't suffer as much from the stress of water loss while new roots are forming.
Application
Hydroponics & Horticulture & Greenhouse Lighting, Seeding/Seedling/Breeding, Farm/Flower Exhibition/Garden/Bonsai etc
FAQ - Please Read
How does this light really compare with the 1w version?
This is the most powerful light we ever tested in the shop. We have hooked this light up to our PAR (photosynthetic active radiation) meter and it is truly double the output of our 600w model, you are welcome to buy two and compare yourself! The 3w LEDs are also the most energy efficient in terms of lumens/watt. we use both 120deg to maximize penetration of canopy and coverage area.
I see ads for 5band, 6band and more bands, why would I want a 2-3 band LED?
More bands does not mean a better light, these spectrums are the most efficient and proven wavelengths for flowering. this is the best light we have tried.
I live in Europe, will this light work here?
Worldwide voltage (90v-240v) is standard on all our LED lights.
How Many Plants will this light cover?
Our suggested coverage for this light is about 600Lux/16.4ft, Max Coverage 215 sq.ft.
How does this light compare with HID lighting performance?
LED lights are more money up front, but you save on Electric consumption, cooling costs (which are huge) and bulb replacement. The typical error made is that people do not use enough LEDs. With enough lighting, these3w LEDs will produce a great yeild. Typically 10% less than a comparable HID system but with faster tomato flowering and lower operational costs. If you are not with your grow, I personally do not like the idea of an HID light burning unattended.
Does this light put off much heat?
Not at all, you can actually let the plant touch the light, although it's not suggested.
