FAQ
What is a Full Lace Wig?
Full lace wigs are manufactured with a cap, and a thin lace sewn on top of the cap.
Individual hairs are then sewn into the thin lace.
Full lace wigs will have lace all around the unit, and require the lace to be cut all around the unit.
You will be cutting a hairline around your entire head. By doing so, once done you can wear your hair anyway you like, ponytails, up-dos etc. Think about it. With the wig, you have just cut yourself a new hairline around your entire head.
Once the unit is applied, you will have on a full hair wig - but the front , back, and sides of the hair wig will not be like a regular wig. The wig will appear that all of the hair is growing directly from your head.
What is a Lace Front Wig?
Lace front wigs are manufactured with a thin lace that extends from ear to ear across the hairline.
Lace front wigs are made similar to a regular ladies wig along the back and sides of the unit.
When you receive the unit the lace will be really long in the front, you will cut the lace along the front of the unit. The goal here is to create yourself a new hairline. You will not cut all of the lace, as you will apply adhesive to the lace/your new hairline.
Once the unit is applied, you will have on a full hair wig - but the front of the hair wig will not be like a regular wig. The wig will appear that it is growing directly from your head.
What is the difference between a lace front and a full lace wig?
A lace front wig does not have lace around the back, and therefore cannot be worn in a high ponytail with the back showing. While the full lace wig is lace all around, and can be worn up in a high ponytail. Both wigs can be parted anywhere, anyhow, and both offer a natural look.
How do I care for my wig?
Storage Wigs
The best way to store a wig is on a wig stand or mannequin. Storing a wig on a wig stand prevents the wig from becoming tangled, misshapen or dirty between uses. The wig stand will also help maintain the factory produced style and shape of your wig. Wigs should be stored in a cool dry place free of dust, mildew and high temperatures.
Human Hair Wigs
We recommend wig cleaning products made especially for wigs as to not damage the quality and fibers of the human hairs in the wig. Usually human hair wigs are more susceptible to damage as the hairs have been processed repeatedly to achieve the desired style and color.
Wash Wigs
Step 1
Start off by adding warm water to your sink. While the water is running, slowly add a small amount of shampoo to the water creating a bubble wash for your wig.
Step 2
After you check to make sure all hair pins, etc. have been removed from the wig, gently place it into the water and do not allow the wig lace cap to soak. During this time do not agitate the wig in anyway.
Step 3
After the wash, drain the water and allow water to slowly run over the wig in order to rinse of the shampoo. For curly or crimped wigs, run under very cold water as it will maintain the curls.
Step 4
To dry the wig, gently squeeze the water out. DO NOT twist or pull on it as this will greatly disturb how your wig will look. Lay your wig out on a towel overnight and spray with wig conditioner.
Step 5
The next morning when you wig is dry, if it is necessary to style the wig, do so only with a pick. Don't use a comb or brush.
Step 6
Put on your makeup add your wig and become the Diva you are for the world!
What color lace is best suited to my skin tone?
The color of lace depends on a lot of factors. First and foremost, the best applications are usually camouflaged by makeup at the hairline and where the hair is parted. This is truly how you get a natural appearance because even though lace blends with the skin, certain lighting conditions can show the lace.
Most women prefer to get a lace close to their skin tone, this is the best option if you don't want to experiment with using makeup (concealer) to camouflage the lace, then it's best to select a shade that blends with your skin tone. If you plan to use makeup, then you should select a shade close to, or lighter than, your own.
Our standard lace colors are:
Transparent:suitable for most complexions
Beige:suitable for those with very light complexions
Light brown:suitable for women with light brown skin
We also offer medium and dark brown lace, however, if you believe you may need a medium or dark brown lace, it is best to submit your photograph, with your custom order, so that our technicians can match the lace to your skin tone.
How do I style my wig?
Your wig can be styled by using a wig brush, a wig comb, or your fingertips. Avoid using a brush designed for human hair. These brushes can create excessive tension, over-stretching the hair with abrasive strokes that may damage the hair. The wigs we carry are "shake & wear" and can be styled by simply using a wide tooth comb or your fingertips. The best styling tool is the most inexpensive; a spray bottle of clean, cool water. Lightly spritz your wig with water to remove static electricity and return your wig to its original look. To achieve style variations, liquid wig mousse is an essential styling tool. For curly or wavy styles, just mousse, hand scrunch, and pick the style into curls. On straight styles, mousse and brush lightly.
How do I put on a wig?
Wigs should be worn on the natural hairline (for most people it is four finger-widths above the eyebrow).
1.Remove wig from the plastic bag Gently remove the protective hair net from your wig. Give your wig a few good shakes to separate the fibers and give somebody to the hair. Some wigs need to be shaken to release the preset styling.
2.Brush your hair off your face at the top and sides. If your hair is too long, you may want use bobby pins to help keep it off your face, back at the sides, and up at the nape. Some women use a wig liner or wig cap to keep their existing hair in place.
3.Hold your wig at the sides with the woven label in back. Place it at your natural hairline and slide it on from front to back. Adjust the wig as needed so the front edge is just over your natural hairline. Use the ear tabs to center your wig from left to right. Adjust the Velcro tabs in the back if necessary for a more secure fit.
