Description:
In-line or "standard" spinners have been a very popular lure for all kinds of gamefish for years. They combine flash and vibration, they're very easy to use, and they can often be effective with just a straight retrieve. Small in-line spinners work well for trout and panfish, and the very biggest are effective for pike, muskie, and salmon. For bass, in-line spinners are a good alternative when bass are turning down the bigger and noisier traditional spinnerbaits. They're an excellent minnow imitation and can be fished with much greater finesse than their bulky counterparts. They're an especially strong lure for taking smallmouth. However, they are very snaggy around weeds or woods, and the exposed treble can even get lodged in rocks.
    Choose spinner color depending on the color of the baitfish in the area you're fishing? use metallic or neutral colors in clear water, darker colors for more visibility in stained or muddy conditions. More color and action can be added with a dressed tail over the hook. Lighter tails help suggest the profile of a baitfish.
