TOPDRY Desiccant is the product which helps conquer humidity problems in containers shipped by sea. Every year more than 500 million containers are shipped by sea and it is estimated that the cargoes in 20% of these are in danger of being damaged by humidity. As a result, manufacturers, shipping lines and customers lose billions of dollars every year.
TOPDRY Desiccant extracts water vapour from the air, thus preventing the humidity inside the container reaching dew point and condensing. Once water vapour has been absorbed, the desiccant turns to gel and the water is retained by binding agents.
APPLICATIONS
TOPDRY Desiccant is used in the protection of a wide range of cargoes including agricultural products, wooden products, electronic goods, leather goods, metal products, textiles etc.
USAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Seal all air vents and inspect the container paying special attention for:
a) Holes, check the container from inside by closing doors and ensuring that no light can be seen.
b) Container floor, check the moisture content (MC), a high MC in excess of 20% can increase risk of moisture damage and may require additional TOPDRY units to be installed.
