Western Zhou Dynasty (about 900-800 BC). Wine vessel. The Bird Zun was excavated in 1975 in Baoji, Shaanxi Province. This vessel looks like a bird, with twelve-character inscription on the birds nape. It runs as follows: Parents worked very hard. The children owe their todays achievement to their parents. The inscription has deep implied meanings, revealing traditional Chinese feudal ethics.
