Takata recommends that installation is completed by professionals familiar with proper harness installation techniques.
step 1
- Remove original bolt attaching seatbelt on driver side.
- Replace original bolt with eyebolt provided by Takata.
- Eyebolt should be facing seat.
WARNING: Do not remove original seatbelts.
step 2
- Remove original bolt attaching seatbelt buckle on console side.
- Replace original bolt with eyebolt provided by Takata.
- Eyebolt should be facing seat.
WARNING: Do not remove original seatbelt buckle.
step 3
- Remove original bolt attaching seatbelt/buckle on driver side in rear seat.
- Replace with eyebolt provided by Takata.
WARNING: Do not remove original equipment.
step 4
- Remove original bolt attaching seatbelt / buckle at mid point in rear seat.
- Replace with eyebolt provided by Takata.

step 5
- Thread Takata harness shoulder belts through seat as shown.
- Cross belts behind seat.
- Belts should pass through inner portion of headrest or be threaded through openings in seat if openings are available.
step 6
- Attach tongues of harness to eyebolts as shown, making sure that fasteners are in closed position when installed.
- Check angle of installation and position of shoulder belts to make sure position is within recommended limits.

- Adjust belts to fit properly when seated.
- Belts should be free and clear of any potential snags, should not encumber the neck, and should not twist when worn.

- Replace original bolt with eyebolt provided by Takata.
- Eyebolt should be facing seat.

- Remove original bolt attaching seatbelt buckle on console side.
- Replace original bolt with eyebolt provided by Takata.
- Eyebolt should be facing seat.
WARNING: Do not remove original seatbelt buckle.
step 3
- Secure eyebolts for the shoulder belt attachment to (a) roll bar or (b) frame/body of car.
- If securing to frame/body of car, take precautions to ensure that location of eyebolt attachment is sufficiently reinforced to provide adequate strength at anchor point.
- If attaching to roll bar, make sure that proper attachment techniques are used. This would involve a wrapping technique.
- Takata long eyebolt may be required for this installation method.

Note: Use of reinforced steel mounting bracket to provide sufficient strength for anchor point. The Takata Mounting
Bracket can be used as well. Here, a piece of hard steel was cut and drilled to provide added strength for installation.
A lock washer, nut, and steel plate secure the long eyebolt in place.
step 4
- Thread Takata harness shoulder belts through seat as shown.
- Do not cross belts behind seat.
- Belts should pass through inner portion of headrest or be threaded through openings in seat if openings are available.

- Attach tongues of harness to eyebolts as shown, making sure that fasteners are in closed position when installed.
- Check angle of installation and position of shoulder belts to make sure position is within recommended limits.
Repeat for console side
If a roll bar is used, tongue attachments will differ from photos.
- Check angle of installation and position of belts to make sure position is within recommended limits.
