How does a GPS Tracker Work?

Answer : It is easy to understand how a GPS Tracker works if you know some definition of GSM, GPRS and GPS. First, a GPS tracker consists a GPS module and a GSM module. The function of GPS Module is to get GPS signals from satellites in the sky. When GPS tracker gets a command for location from its user, it will get an exact location (latitude and longitude) of itself and send to its user by GPRS or SMS, or both. GSM Module is used to get SMS command from its user and send out the GPS location to its user. So the working principle of a GPS Tracker is to get GSP info from satellites and send to its user or a monitoring center (some people call it VTS or AVL) by GRPS or SMS. And user or a monitoring center can send commands by SMS or GPRS for its tracking devices location. (actually it is a latitude and longitude.)

How Can we find the location of my Car?

Answer: The main function of the Car tracker is that it can report you its coordinates by SMS or GPRS to your cell phone or a server. The coordinates are 22.561823, 114.096436 and speed: 80KM/H. When you get this coordinates with SMS from the tracker, you can log in Google earth to check its location.

Do i need a software for this tracker?

Answer: no. This car tracker can work stand alone. When you buy this car tracker and you can input a valid Mobile phone's SIM Card (with enough money/credit inside) to the tracker and install it in your car and connect car battery with it. And then it is powered on, and you can call it with your cell phone to make sure it is ready to work or not. If ok, you can send a SMS command: *H*1234*13926548311# (e.g. 13926548311 is your cell phone numer). After 5 seconds, you will get a SMS confirmation from the tracker. After this, your tracker has been connected with your cell phone. You can ask it to report you its new location every 5 or 10 seconds.
